According to reports in the US, the American administration is continuing efforts to prevent an Israeli attack on Rafah and seriously considering an arms embargo on Israel to get this done.

US President Joe Biden is considering either stopping or limiting American arms shipments to Israel if the IDF enters the southern Gaza city of Rafah. According to a report in "Politico," President Biden is seriously considering this option to prevent an all-out attack on the city.

Will he prevent the use of American-made weapons in Rafah?

According to the report, Biden is looking for additional ways to prevent the use of American weapons in the planned operation in Rafah. These reports follow reports published last week in the Washington Post about American concern with the Israeli military operation.

Despite heavy American pressures, it seems that such an attack is inevitable and that the IDF has no choice but to take the city in order to defeat Hamas. Two days ago, a source from the National Security Headquarters told us that Israel has made it clear to the US that it will take Rafah after the local population has vacated the area.

"Attack on Rafah corresponds to the Prime Minister's position"

The Prime Minister's Office on behalf of the National Security Headquarters stated: "Israel made it clear that the dismantling of the Hamas battalions in Rafah is an essential part of the war to destroy the military capabilities of the terrorist organization."

"Because it was communicated to the US that before this goal is realized, Israel will work to evacuate civilians from the combat zones in Rafah, as has been done so far in every combat zone. This response is in line with the Prime Minister's public statements," added the Prime Minister's Office.
