A serious security breach occurred at an IDF base in southern Israel involving two individuals of Arab descent, one of whom was residing illegally in Israel, according to a report by Israel National News. Both individuals were employed at the army base and have been accused of stealing a firearm from the living quarters designated for staff.

The State Prosecutor has formally indicted Yousef Abu Arar from Ar'ara and Amar Mohammed Miata for their alleged involvement in the theft of weapons from a military base. Abu Arar, employed as a subcontractor through a sealing company working for the IDF, and Mohammed, illegally in Israel prior to 1967, were stationed at a Paratroopers Brigade base in southern Israel approximately a month ago.

According to the indictment, they accessed the soldiers barracks and took an M4 firearm from an officer's room. Subsequently, they concealed the weapon in Abu Arar's vehicle and left the base with the stolen firearm in their possession.

Both individuals have been issued arrest warrants pending legal proceedings due to concerns articulated by the Southern District Prosecutor's Office regarding potential risks to personal security, public safety, and national security posed by both Arabs.

The charges levelled against them include possession and transportation of firearms, theft of military property, and the use of a vehicle in commission of a crime. Additionally, Abu Arar faces accusations related to employing and providing lodging to an illegal individual, while Mohammed is specifically charged with unlawful presence in Israel.
