The Northern District police arrested three young residents of Nazareth last night (Sunday) after they brutally assaulted a 19-year-old man at a bus station, apparently on nationalist grounds. The victim sought medical treatment.

Close to 11:00 PM, a report was received at the police dispatch regarding the assault of a young man at the bus station in the city of Nof HaGalil by a group of young people.

The police from the Northern District arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, from which it emerged that the victim, who was sitting at the bus station with two other girls, was attacked savagely by three young men, with one of them shouting, "Arabs are not to be looked at like this," before fleeing the scene.

In a short period of time, the police managed to identify the suspects' identities (aged 17, 18, and 21), who are residents of Nazareth. All the suspects were arrested, and later today, they will appear in the Nazareth Magistrate's Court for a hearing regarding the police's request to extend their detention.

The Israel Police reported that "these days, the police are operating with increased vigilance, utilizing all available means to arrest suspects involved in any form of violence, with a particular emphasis on nationalist motives, as well as incitement on social networks."

Furthermore, it was stated: "The Israel Police calls upon both formal and informal community leaders and educators to work towards preventing violent and aggressive behavior. Incidents of this nature can cast a dark shadow over the fabric of relationships among residents."
