Police officers from the Central District arrested a resident of Rahat last night (Saturday) who worked as a contractor at a hospital in the Sharon region on suspicion of posting a video containing racist expressions towards Jews.
According to the police statement, investigators from the Kfar Saba station initiated an investigation following a report about the posting of content on social networks that contained racist expressions against Jews. As mentioned, the police located the suspect, a young man in his twenties who worked as a contractor at the hospital, and arrested him for questioning. After the interrogation, the police will request a hearing before the court to extend his detention based on the investigation findings.
Israel's Police Commissioner, Yaakov Shabtai, responded by congratulating the swift and determined action in closing the loop and making the arrests. He emphasized that as he has stated since the beginning of the conflict, the Israeli police will stand firmly against any incitement. There is zero tolerance for incitement to terrorism or support for terrorism and Hamas-ISIS.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir added his commendation for the Israeli police, saying, "Kudos to our police officers who arrived to apprehend a terrorist supporter within a matter of hours."
The Central District Commander, Superintendent Avi Biton, also addressed the case, saying, "For those who have forgotten, we are in a war over our home! The Central District will handle with determination and swiftness any expression that raises suspicion of support and identification with terrorist organizations and incitement to violence. The district invests heavily in monitoring seditious posts, and we will reach anyone who challenges us!"
Earlier this morning, a Shufersal delivery person, a resident of the Shuafat refugee camp, was also arrested after he drew swastikas and the middle finger gesture towards the Israeli flag for customers. Both of them join over 100 detainees suspected of supporting terrorism since the beginning of the war.
