Details on the incident that killed 6 IDF soldiers in Lebanon battle

The incident in Lebanon: Fighters from Golani's 51st Battalion entered a building and engaged in prolonged combat with the terrorists. The tragic incident in which six fighters from the Golani Brigade's 51st Battalion fell occurred during the deepening of Operation of Division 36 on the outskirts of the second village line in the western sector of southern Lebanon. This is a manoeuvre in new areas where the IDF has not yet operated on the ground. The operation is limited and aimed at capturing territory and locating weapons and launchers targeting northern settlements.

The fall of the 6 fighters is revealed to be as a result of terrorists firing an anti-tank missile at the building they were operating in.

This morning, the 51st Battalion of Golani began an operation on several buildings, one of which was reportedly being used by four militants who were waiting for the soldiers. The force encountered them at close range, and a prolonged battle ensued between the two sides.

During the battle inside the structure, additional terrorists ambushed the forces and fired small arms and anti-tank weapons at the location where the fighters were, resulting in gunfire directed at them from multiple directions.

The battle lasted about three hours (from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM), the six fighters fell during the battle, and another fighter was moderately injured. From the initial investigation, it appears that there was a pre-emptive fire on the building that the fighters entered. According to suspicion, inside the structure there is an underground shaft where the terrorists hid, and thus they were not harmed.
