Competition for Users of Social Media

Tiktok joins the competition for Twitter users

On TikTok, they launched a feature of uploading text-based content, in addition to uploading videos and images. This was done to attract Twitter users who are disappointed with the conduct of the new owner, Elon Musk.

Against the backdrop of Twitter's weakening and loss of users due to the numerous changes made by the new owner, Elon Musk, the popular app TikTok is adding a new feature where users can upload short text messages.

Many Twitter users are disappointed with Musk's management of the Twitter application, especially regarding changes that affected the daily exposure of users' tweets and limiting many features for premium-paying users. One of the dramatic changes occurred yesterday when Musk decided to rebrand and even changed the beloved symbol of the app to "X."

Various networks are competing to attract these disappointed users. The prominent and familiar one among them is the Threads app by Meta, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, Musk's main rival. Now, TikTok is launching a similar feature to Twitter's tweets, hoping to draw in and attract those disappointed with the blue bird.

The feature will allow users to express their creativity, according to the company, and from now on, users can post text-only posts of up to 1000 characters in addition to sharing videos or images.

This is not the first time TikTok is competing for users of rival applications. Last year, the app introduced another way to share content through images, aiming to compete for the hearts of Instagram users. The success they achieved last time was minimal, certainly not affecting Meta's Instagram.

Now, it remains to be seen if they can attract users who are disappointed with Twitter's recent conduct and who are fond of written content.
