Manchester United's Gesture to Israeli Fan Killed in Hamas Massacre

Yonatan Rappoport, a Manchester United fan murdered on October 7, was commemorated in the central program for the City vs. Manchester United game.

Yonatan Rappoport, an Israeli fan of the English soccer team Manchester United, who was murdered during the Simchat Torah Massacre of October 7, was commemorated in the English League’s Manchester Derby program.

In honor of the central game of the British Premier League against Manchester City, the English team decided to commemorate one of its fans, Yonatan Rappoport ob”m who was murdered in the Hamas massacre of October 7.

The team commemorated Yonatan ob”m in the game’s program, a booklet handed out every game which breaks down special events related to the club or the game itself. This is a special program in that it is a special derby game, and one of the prominent ones in the English League.

The commemoration read: “Earlier this month, we received tragic news of the murder of United fan, Yonatan Rapoport. Known as Yoni, Rapoport was killed during the Hamas attack on kibbutz Be’eri in Israel on 7 October.”

The program noted Yonatan’s life story, his two sons and his family. The President of the group’s fan club in Israel was quoted as saying: “Yonatan was an avid United fan, and visited Old Trafford [stadium] many times with his father, Omer, and with his brothers, Dan and Adam. He was due to take his son for his first-ever match next month.” The program ended by saying “Our deepest condolences go to Yonatan’s family and friends, including all the United fans who knew him.”
