Harris, US President, Netanyahu congress speech, Israel

Former Israeli Ambassador: "I worry about Israel if, God forbid, Harris becomes president"

Former US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, also mentions that Netanyahu's speech to Congress provides the Prime Minister an opportunity to present Israel's perspective on the conflict with Hamas to the global audience.

Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman spoke with CBN News about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming visit to Washington and the speech he will give to Congress later today.

Ambassador Friedman stated that Netanyahu's speech was significant because the Israeli viewpoint on the war initiated by Hamas on October 7 has not been widely shared in the US in the past nine months. "The globe has yet to receive any updates from the individual responsible for safeguarding Israel and emerging victorious in this conflict, and that individual is Prime Minister Netanyahu."

According to Friedman, Netanyahu is entering the "largest platform on the globe" to articulate Israel's viewpoint.

He slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for not attending Netanyahu's speech, claiming that if she becomes President in November, she would be "the worst" US leader for Israel ever. He stated that her decision not to sit in the customary Vice President seat during a speech to Congress is not only disrespectful to Netanyahu and Israel but also foreshadows her future opinions on the country.

"I just don't think she gets Israel, I don't think she sees its strategic importance to America. I don't think she sees its theological importance to people of faith, of which there are tens of millions in America. I don't think any of that means anything to her. I say, if God forbid, she becomes the President of the United States, I worry about Israel's relationship with America," he said.
