The IDF Reveals: The Documentation of the Tunnel Where the Abductees were Held in Gaza

The IDF revealed documentation from the giant tunnel in Khan Yunis, which connects to an extensive underground route. From the investigation of the tunnel it was determined that Israeli hostages were held there.

During the last day, the IDF revealed to the international media a tunnel in Khan Yunis that was located by the combat team of the commando formation, and the Yahalom special unit fighters, which connects to an extensive and branching underground route. The tunnel is located in the heart of a civilian area in Khan Yunis, and according to estimates, millions of shekels were invested in its construction. According to the IDF spokesman, after investigating the tunnel it can be said that there were Israeli hostages in it.

The forces of Division 98 are fighting in the underground in Khan Yunis at the same time as intense fighting in the crowded field cells in all areas of the city with a variety of forces and capabilities. Engineering warriors, the Yahalom Unit, commando forces, and other forces lead the effort to locate the tunnels, investigate, and destroy them using advanced technological and operational capabilities.

During the underground fighting, the fighters located over 300 shafts, including shafts leading to significant underground tunnels, tactical combat shafts and shafts used as munitions storage and combat complexes.
