In the Wake of the Houthi Terrorism: ZIM in a Dramatic Message

The shipping company ZIM sent a message to its customers, that following the threat from the Houthis to the safe passage in the Red Sea, the cruise and cargo ships will deviate from the original route in the Suez Canal, which will cause a delay in the delivery of shipments to Israel.

In a message sent to customers, it was stated that "ZMP ( ZIM Mediterranean Premium Service) service will continue to serve all of its eastern and Israeli ports. Operations to and from these ports will continue while applying the highest regard to safety protocols essential to safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders."

"In light of the threat to the safe passage of global trade in the Arabian and Red Seas, ZIM is taking temporary proactive measures to ensure the safety of the crews, vessels, and cargo of its costumers." As a result of the route change, there may be delays of up to 18 days in the delivery of shipments to Israel.

The Houthi threat to Israel began when they sent missiles and explosive drones from Yemen towards Israel, and later the threats even included taking over ships in the Red Sea, which threatens the safety of ships carrying cargo and shipments to Israel.
