Assessment: The Video of the Abductee was not Taken in the Last Few Days

The New York Times newspaper conducted an analysis of the Hamas video that featured Mia Schem, an abductee in Gaza, from which it appears that the video was filmed at least 6 days ago, in the initial days following the abduction.

The day after Hamas published the first video of one of the abductees in Gaza, The New York Times newspaper reported that an analysis was conducted on the video file that was published, examining its metadata. According to estimates, the terrorist organization did not film the video of Mia Schem in recent days – instead, they recorded the footage at least 6 days ago, in the days immediately following the abduction.

As mentioned, Hamas released a video last night of Mia Schem, a 21-year-old from the town of Shoham, who was abducted during a terrorist attack after attending a party in Re'im. The abductee holds French citizenship, and the terrorist organization is making efforts to negotiate and release foreign citizens and those with dual citizenship.

In the video, she says, "Right now, I am in Gaza. I am severely injured in my arm. They operated on me at the Gaza hospital for about three hours, taking care of me, giving me medicine. Everything is fine. I just ask that you bring me back home quickly to my family. Please get us out of here as soon as possible."

An IDF spokesperson stated: "The family of Mia Schem was informed of her abduction last week by IDF representatives. At this time, IDF representatives are in contact with the family. The IDF is using all available informational and operational means to return the captives. In the video, Hamas tries to present itself as a humane organization, but it is a murderous terrorist organization responsible for the killing and abduction of infants, women, children, and elders."
