It is allowed to publish that an IDF officer was killed yesterday (Sunday) by a missile fired from Lebanon towards Israel near the Nurit base. In the incident, several soldiers of various ranks were also injured.

The deceased is Lieutenant Amit Granot, a 24-year-old from Tel Aviv, the commander of a team in Battalion 75, from Sa'ar Golan formation. He is the son of the head of the "Orot Shaul" yeshiva in South Tel Aviv, Rabbi Tamir Granot.

He is the seventh casualty from the clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah on the northern border since the start of the fighting last week, and the second casualty today from missile fire. Four officers and soldiers were killed in the clashes at the beginning of the week, and another soldier was killed by a missile fired in the Aramsha area. A naval combatant was killed yesterday in a training accident opposite the coast of Lebanon, and this morning, a civilian was killed by a missile fired at construction workers in Shtula.

In the past day, Hezbollah fired 5 anti-tank missiles towards the Israeli border. This morning, militants fired a missile at construction workers in Shtula, and about an hour later, Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile towards an Israeli tank patrolling the northern border. Subsequently, Hezbollah also fired towards the Ramim Ridge and an outpost in the region. The fifth missile firing incident occurred in the Hanita area.

The IDF's responses to Hezbollah's attacks are minor and restrained. They include artillery fire into the area and striking observation positions in the border regions.
