U.S. President Joe Biden responded on his Twitter account to the speech of former President Donald Trump and wrote: "Our nation's support for Israel is unwavering and unshakable; the right time to praise terrorists seeking to destroy them is - never."
The President's words come in the wake of a speech by Trump last night (between Wednesday and Thursday), in which he criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and said, "I will never forget that Bibi (Netanyahu) disappointed us; it was terrible."
In his remarks, he criticized Netanyahu for "not assisting in the operation to assassinate Qasem Soleimani in 2020. We were very disappointed by that. In the end, we did the job ourselves - and it was precise, great, and wonderful work. But then Bibi (Netanyahu) tried to take credit for it. It didn't make me feel good."
In a speech at a rally in Florida, Trump criticized Israel's intelligence capabilities and argued that "they need to improve their intelligence and take matters into their own hands. Israel is weak, and they need to strengthen themselves. They need to get this sorted out because they are potentially fighting a very strong force – they are potentially fighting Iran. When Israel has people who don't say the right things, everything they say is picked up by Hamas because they are intelligent – but also ruthless."
In his concluding remarks, Trump took a swipe at President Joe Biden and linked the war to his conspiracy theory about election fraud: "If the elections were not stolen, no one would even think of invading Israel. The recent deadly terror attacks are also a reminder of the threats we face due to the destruction of the country's borders under Biden. Those people who attacked Israel – killed, kidnapped, tortured, and harmed innocent civilians – are now flooding into our beautiful United States."
