Fire on the south continues: a 30 year old man and a 20 year old woman were seriously injured today (Thursday) from rockets fired onto the city of Sderot. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics provided them with medical treatment and evacuated them to Barzilai hospital while suffering from shrapnel wounds. A 33 year old man was also evacuated to Barzilai with moderate injuries from shrapnel, and a 37 year old was lightly wounded en route to a safe area.

According to the city of Sderot, 5 people were injured in the wake of the rocket attack, with one scene registering one mortally wounded, one seriously wounded, and one moderately wounded, as well as a second scene with one mortally wounded and another seriously wounded. 7 hits were registered from the salvo.

Emergency medicine medic Elor Tawil reported on what he saw: “I stood in the ambulance when the siren started. I immediately shouted to all the civilians that were in the area and entered into a safe space and a few seconds later, we heard the strong noise of a fall. We waited a few minutes more in the safe space based on Rear Command instructions, we set out, and then I saw shrapnel that hit the ambulance. The fact that we listened to and applied the life-saving instructions of Rear Command saved us. This event could have ended in tragedy.”

Ichud Hatzalah noted that two of those wounded were medics in the organization. The medics Kfir Atar, Matan Treblisi, and Avi Maman reported that “we provided medical aid on the scene to two of our medic colleagues from Ichud Hatzalah who were on their way to save life at another scene and during the trip, another rocket fell next to them. They were both evacuated to Barzilai hospital with one of the medics in moderate condition and the other medic in light condition at this time.”
