According to a report from an American news site, about ten days before the surprise attack in the south by Hamas militants, Netanyahu was reportedly warned by the Egyptian intelligence minister. However, the Prime Minister's office denies this report.

According to the report, about ten days before the surprise attack on Israel by the Hamas terrorist organization, the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, General Abbas Kamel, called Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and warned him of "something unusual, a terrible operation" that was about to occur from the Gaza direction.

The Prime Minister's Office directly denied the reports of an Egyptian warning or any other source on the matter.

A senior political official, speaking on condition of anonymity, categorically stated: "There has been no communication between the Prime Minister and the Egyptian Intelligence Minister since the Prime Minister took office."
