After a few days of calm, Syrian media reported last night (Tuesday) that the Israeli Air Force attacked military positions in the area of the city of Deir ez-Zor in the eastern part of the country. Sources in the Assad regime said that two Syrian soldiers were injured in the bombing, and property damage occurred.
According to the reports, the targets of the attack belonged to pro-Iranian militias in the country, with one of the targets being used as a route for transporting Iranian weapons to Syria.
This is the second time in the past week that Syria has accused Israel of responsibility for an attack in the country. On Sunday, it was reported that air defense systems were activated in the Damascus area, with allegations that Israel targeted sites belonging to the Syrian army and Iranian militias in the town of Dimas near the border with Lebanon, with the targets of the attack being Iranian weapon shipments. However, the Syrian government did not officially confirm these reports.
