Against the background of the crisis in Israeli society surrounding the legal reform and the protests against the government, Knesset members Michal Woldiger (Religious Zionism party) and Hili Tropper (National Unity party) are initiating a joint event during the Sukkot holiday under the title: "Sukkat Shalom crosses parties".

Last year, Deputy Minister of Finance Woldiger initiated the "Sukkat Shalom" with the participation of guests from various sectors. This year, together with the former Minister of Culture MK Hili Tropper, the Sukkah will be open to the public who wish to have a joint conversation about unity and dealing with the complexity of Israeli society.

Public figures, rabbis, intellectuals, artists, and media persons from the Israeli spectrum will be hosted in the sukkah to talk and listen with mutual respect. Among others, will come - Yael Shevach, Rabbi Shneor Ashkenazi, Rabbi Benny Lau, Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin, Rabbi Eyal Vered, and other guests.

The meeting will be during Chol HaMoed, on Tuesday (October 3) at Woldiger's place of residence in Givat Shmuel at 20:00.

According to Deputy Minister of Finance Michal Woldiger, the expectation is to have a healthy and unifying dialogue: "The event I held last year was extremely successful and full of hope. This year it will also happen, let's sit down and talk. We really can and are able to find connections and shared values. I thank my friend, MK Hili Tropper who rallied with me. Everyone is welcome, peace and love."

MK Hili Tropper joined the call to the public to come and participate: "Within the terrible polarization we are all experiencing, we want to create an opportunity for dialogue. There are many disputes, but in a society that wants to continue living together, it is appropriate to talk about them and manage them in a careful and respectful manner. Besides, dealing with disputes also makes room for commonality and connection between us. Thanks to Knesset member Woldiger who initiated and hosted. And may peace come upon us and within us."
