The Director General of the Ministry of National Security, Adv. Agriculture and Rural Development. The CEO is the brother of Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Safed, and the uncle of Minister Amihai Eliyahu.
In a letter to the office's employees, the director general stated: "Due to personal reasons, I recently informed the Minister of National Security of my intention to end my tenure as director general of the office. At the outset, I would like to thank the minister for appointing me to this important position, at such a sensitive and demanding time. Under his leadership, we have advanced a line of achievements, some of them are already bearing fruit and some will bear fruit in the months and years to come.
Eliyahu continued: "I am grateful for the privilege I had to work with you and this is the place to praise the employees and the management of the office for the fruitful cooperation, which led to many achievements, among them: an unprecedented achievement of increasing the budget of the Ministry of National Security, the Israel Police, Fire and Rescue and the Israel Defense Forces; A significant salary increase for police officers and prison guards; A significant increase in personnel standards in the office and its various bodies; Completion of the work of the committee for the establishment of the National Guard, which I chaired together with a professional team from the ministry."

He also added in his letter: "The family atmosphere, the professionalism and the unique pride that flows through the veins of the employees of the Ministry of National Security deserve great appreciation, keep it up. I thank the Minister of National Security, Knesset member Itamar Ben Gabir, for the trust he placed in me and for the joint work." From Wednesday, the 26th of Tishrei Tashpad, 11/10/2023, the director general of the office, Mr. Eliezer Rosenbaum, who is currently serving as the deputy director general, will serve as director.
