Fatal accident: A 25-year-old man was trapped in his car after being involved in a car accident with a truck on road 4311 towards Palmachim, near the Sorek industrial area. MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene found him unconscious, and worked to extract him from the vehicle - but finally pronounced him dead at the scene.
The truck driver, who was described as a 40-year-old man, was also injured in the incident and was taken to Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital in a minor condition. The police said that traffic examiners started investigating the circumstances of the accident when they arrived at the scene and are collecting findings.
Emergency medicine medics at MDA Itai Atias and Gedaliah Rabinovitz said "we saw a very serious car accident between a truck and a private car with severe metal injuries in the front part. The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was trapped unconscious without a pulse and without breathing with multi-system trauma. During the rescue operations, we performed medical tests, but his injury was critical and we had to pronounce him dead. The truck driver walked around the scene and was taken by ambulance from the MDA in a minor condition."
Moshe Fierberg, the medic and ambulance driver of the Rescue Union, added: "This is the scene of a very serious car accident, the driver of the car was trapped in the vehicle, and the firefighting teams worked on the scene to rescue him. Unfortunately, due to the severe injuries he suffered, he was pronounced dead on the spot."
