The ultra-Orthodox movement, the Jerusalem Faction, announced that huge demonstrations will be held today in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Rosh Pina after last night, a 23-year-old student from the Ponevitch Yeshiva was arrested on suspicion of desertion after he failed to report to the recruiting office.

Another of the organizations that stand behind today's expected demonstrations is the 'Committee to Save the Torah World' which said: "The Torah world will come out en masse to protest and cry for the souls of young Israelis who are languishing in the terrible frameworks of the army as a result of the criminal conscription law. As our great Rabbi Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach instructed us: "To make a noise so the all world hear of the arrest of Torah prisoners who do not show up at the recruiting offices."

Following the demonstrations that will begin at 4:30 p.m., severe traffic jams are expected to occur in a number of centers across the country. It should be noted that the police have not yet responded to the reports and have not published special traffic regulations.
