The Surprise that Awaited Wasserlauf

"The Ten Commandments": the surprise that awaited Wasserlauf in his new home

Yitzhak Wasserlauf's new neighbors surprised him with a letter containing the "Ten Commandments" for good neighbors: "I am the 'Old North' - liberal democrat, loving every person."

The Minister for the Development of the Negev and Galilee, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, recently moved to a new apartment in northern Tel Aviv. When he arrived there, he was surprised to find a letter left for him by his new neighbors, containing the "Ten Commandments for Good Neighbourliness." In a satirical manner, they wrote about their opposition to the minister's and the government's actions.

In the satirical letter against the Minister from the Otzma Yehudit ("Jewish Power") party, it was written: "Hello, Mr. Wasserlauf. We heard that you are our new neighbor. Since you come from a somewhat 'different' place, we thought we'd start our relationship on a good note. We've prepared the Ten Commandments of the neighborhood for you, right by the window for easy access. Keep these commandments, and we'll be friends."

Among the "commandments" written in the letter are: "I am the 'Old North' - a liberal democrat, loving every person," "You shall not have any other authority before democracy - liberal democracy is the bedrock of our existence," "You shall not steal - you shall not steal coalition funds," and "You shall not covet - neither territories that aren't yours nor authorities that aren't yours."

Calls against Wasserlauf: "Go to Germany"

As reported last night, protesters shouted harsh slogans against the Minister for the Development of the Negev, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, at the Information and Innovation Conference of the Eshkol Regional Council held at the Ort College of Engineering in Carmiel.

During Wasserlauf's visit to the committee, protesters disrupted his speech, and one of the demonstrators approached him and shouted, "Idiot, get out of here, go to Germany." Despite the vocal protests, the minister spoke at the conference and discussed, among other things, the creation of partnerships and improving the quality of life for the benefit of all residents of the State of Israel, Jews and Arabs, Circassians, and Druze, including those who protested against him, which he stated is part of democracy.
