After the disclosure of the secret meeting with the foreign minister of Libya, which led to a political incident in which the foreign minister was removed from her position, and even had to flee the country. Foreign Minister Eli Cohen responds for the first time to the accusations leveled against him.

The minister published his response to the case and the accusations around it, after not addressing the issue since the story leaked, and explained: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs consistently operates in overt and covert channels, utilizing various discreet methods to strengthen Israel's relationships globally. The numerous achievements of the ministry in the past year, including the opening of Oman's skies to flights, the trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates, establishing two new embassies of Muslim countries, relocating three embassies to Jerusalem, and more, could not have been achieved without discreet preparation and the execution of covert actions through various channels."

Minister Cohen continued to address the accusations leveled against him, concerning the claims that, according to the allegations, his conduct resulted in national and international damage. He stated, "It's unfortunate that political rivals who haven't achieved any significant accomplishments rush to react without knowing the details, and they blame a leak that didn't even occur."

Cohen emphasized that he will continue his work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stated that, "The attacks will not deter the Foreign Ministry and its excellent staff from continuing their work tirelessly for the sake of the State of Israel and for the purpose of creating and strengthening relationships with our many friends worldwide, particularly in the Arab world."
