Former Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar criticizes the intention of the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, to involve the Shabak in the fight against violence in the Arab sector.
In an interview with Radio 103FM, Sa'ar said: "I am in favor of being creative, but the Shabak cannot replace the police. Do you want to turn the Shabak into the police? There will be no one dealing with terrorism. This is a short-sighted move; there are two different organizations here with different purposes."
Sa'ar emphasized that "the police are in a crisis, and unfortunately they appointed the least suitable person to lead it out of the crisis. They chose a person with no experience, knowledge, or ability to lead this organization, and unfortunately we are already seeing the consequences."
Regarding Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's conduct, Sa'ar stated, "He is not serving as Prime Minister today – he is serving at the helm of an autoimmune disease that is attacking all of the state's institutions. If he shoots down the cessation of the judicial revolution, we in the opposition will use the strongest words."
