15 injured in a rockslide in Ein Gedi

Rescue and medical forces were called to Nachal David in Ein Gedi following a report of a rockslide incident. Several individuals at the scene sustained various levels of injuries. Helicopters were dispatched to the area. The site is being evacuated of tourists.

Following a report received at the Magen David Adom emergency center, rescue and medical teams are making their way to Nachal David in Ein Gedi due to reports of a stone-throwing incident. Currently, there are 15 injured individuals at the scene, including a 4-year-old child.

Magen David Adom reported: "At 09:12, a report was received at the 101 emergency center of Magen David Adom in the Negev region regarding a rockslide incident at Nachal David near Ein Gedi. Initial reports indicate that MDA paramedics are providing on-site medical treatment to a number of travelers, including a man in serious condition and a 4-year-old girl in moderate condition. Helicopters and additional MDA forces were dispatched to the scene."

According to the Nature and Parks Authority, it was reported: "This morning, a rockfall incident occurred in the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve in the Nachal David Falls area. The nature reserve team and the rescue unit are dealing with the incident and the injured individuals. Nachal David is closed, and the travelers are being evacuated from the site. Ein Arugot Nature Reserve is open, as is the ancient synagogue."

From the Israeli Police, it was reported: "In the Israeli Police, initial reports were received about a rockfall near the Ein David Nature Reserve, where several individuals were injured. Police forces, including rescue units, the aerial unit, and emergency response teams, are en route to the scene."

Micha Ben Gigi, the incident manager of the command post (CHAFAK), told Channel B: "There are 15 injured individuals with various injuries. Currently, there are no severe injuries or life-threatening conditions, and there are no trapped individuals in the area."
