Under the title "Everything is Expected and the Authority is Building" these days the Gush Etzion Council is embarking on an uncompromising struggle and demanding from the state institutions, an immediate halt to the construction of the Arab city being built by the Palestinian Authority in the agreed nature reserve in eastern Gush Etzion.

Council officials make it clear that "the city that the Arabs are building in the heart of the desert in recent times is destroying the Judean desert, and may be a source of terrorist groups that will emerge from the new Arab city."

The officials criticize the government and say: "The systematic ignoring of the progress of the establishment of the Arab city, about which Gush Etzion has been warning for a long time, is leading to an irreversible and dangerous situation."

"We call on the government to immediately stop the rampant illegal construction in the sensitive reserve, and to prevent severe damage that will be caused to the settlement in Gush Etzion in particular, and to the entire state of Israel," the sources said.

Shlomo Ne'eman, the head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, stated: "This town constitutes a barbaric destruction, a blow to the settlement, a final loss of governance at the most serious level, and furthermore, it violates international agreements and understandings. It poses a real danger to the settlement and the state."

"I call on all decision-makers to come to the sensitive reserve, understand the situation, and immediately halt the continuation of this dangerous construction," Ne'eman said.
