Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, in the government meeting, began by offering condolences to the family of the victims of last night's attack: "On behalf of the citizens of the State of Israel, I extend my condolences to the family of Shai and Aviad, may their memory be a blessing, father and son who were murdered in the brutal and cruel attack in Hawara."
He further adds, "Security forces are currently operating to apprehend the murderer and hold him accountable, just as we have done with anyone who has murdered Israelis. The day of reckoning for this terrorist will also come, and sooner than he thinks."
The Prime Minister mentions the inauguration of the light rail in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, saying, "On Thursday, together with my colleague the Minister of Transportation and others, we inaugurated the first light rail line in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. Already the next day, around a hundred thousand Israelis traveled on the new light rail." He adds that "since the establishment of the state, we have been talking about the Tel Aviv light rail, and we have done it. It's part of the massive transportation vision that my governments have been leading since 2009." He explains about the future vision: "In the coming years, we will connect the State of Israel from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat by rail. We are spreading networks of light rail within the cities, and soon we will also expand the metro rail."
Netanyahu refers to the media coverage and says, "The media ignores all these revolutions, our political rivals don't stop criticizing."
Netanyahu explains that today, in the cabinet meeting, there will be a discussion about a change in the healthcare system and says, "In every cabinet meeting, we are advancing the State of Israel with new steps. Today, we will provide an additional boost to our healthcare system by encouraging the Aliyah of qualified doctors to Israel."
Furthermore, he explains that there will also be discussions regarding a plan for East Jerusalem: "We do not forget for a moment about Jerusalem and our commitment to assist all residents. Today, the government will make an important decision for the benefit of the residents of East Jerusalem. Later on, a detailed statement on this matter will be provided."
