The leaders of the political parties 'HaMachane HaMamlachti' and 'Yesh Atid' – Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid – are distancing themselves from the framework proposed by Matan Kahana for the establishment of a unity government under Netanyahu for two years. They state that this proposal does not have support in the opposition.

Immediately after Kahana's proposal, in the vicinity of Benny Gantz, it was clarified that the Machane HaMamlachti party is a democratic party where everyone can raise ideas and propose suggestions, but "there is one binding position, and it is Benny's."

Yesh Atid responded to Kahana's proposal by stating that "a unity government with Netanyahu will destroy the country."

As mentioned, in the post published, Kahana suggested that the solution to the crisis in Israeli society is the formation of a unity government led by Netanyahu for two years, after which Netanyahu will announce his retirement.

Under the title "Kahana's Plan for rescuing the State of Israel from the crisis", Kahana wrote: "Netanyahu as Prime Minister for two years. A government leaning on Likud, HaMachane HaMamlachti, and Yesh Atid. With all those who agree to accept the basic principles in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence. In two years, elections. Netanyahu retires to his home with honor."

Kahana added: "Do you truly believe there is a better solution than this for the deep crisis the country is currently facing? Such a government could truly heal the deep internal divide among us and provide room for all segments of society in Israel. Such a government would re-unite the army and confront the increasing external threats around us. Such a government could formulate a constitution, or at least enact a set of fundamental laws that would better balance the power structure among the governing authorities."

Kahana added: "Such a government will bring peace with Saudi Arabia. Such a government will restore the economy and regain the world markets' confidence in the Israeli miracle. Such a government will bring the tranquility we all so eagerly yearn for. A tranquility that is not surrender. A tranquility of blessing."

"In the past year, I have had the opportunity to deepen my acquaintance with Benny Gantz. I am aware that as he has proven in the past, Israel truly comes first for him. I believe that if such a scenario were even remotely possible, he would seriously consider it. With deep regret, I admit that I haven't found a single person who understands politics and believes there is a way to make such a scenario happen today. But if enough people ask for it, who knows, maybe there will be a chance. I will continue to strive and pray that such a government will be formed."
