Surprise Attack: Knesset member Nissim Vaturi (Likud) launches an attack against Yair Netanyahu, the son of the Prime Minister, for tweeting a post that criticizes the IDF Chief of Staff.
During an interview with Ynet Radio, Vaturi strongly criticized Netanyahu, stating, "He is causing damage both to the Prime Minister and to the Likud." Regarding the coalition leaders' attack against the IDF Chief of Staff, Vaturi said that he respects the Chief of Staff and listens to every word he says, but according to him: "I do not agree that things should be leaked to the media."
As a reminder, the storm began when Yair Netanyahu shared a post written by Likud member and journalist Erez Tadmor, in which Tadmor criticized the conduct of the IDF Chief of Staff in dealing with the pilots' and others' refusals. The post and its sharing triggered a controversy that led to attacks from the opposition and condemnations from figures within the government, such as Minister of Defense Gallant and Knesset member Eli Dalal, who came to the defense of the IDF Chief of Staff.
In response, the Prime Minister, Netanyahu, emphasized that he works in full cooperation with the IDF Chief of Staff. "The State of Israel faces significant challenges, and as the Prime Minister of Israel, I work day and night together with the Minister of Defense, the IDF Chief of Staff, senior IDF officials, and the security branches to ensure Israel's security in all situations," he wrote on social media.
