Foreign Minister Eli Cohen: "We continue to strengthen Jerusalem's international status as the eternal capital of the State of Israel. I have invited the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, to come to Israel for an official visit later this year and to inaugurate Paraguay's embassy in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. The opening of the Paraguayan embassy in Jerusalem and the Israeli embassy in Asunción will enhance Israel's regional and international standing and strengthen the important ties between the countries. We will continue to nurture and reinforce the significant historical connection with the Latin American countries that have stood by the side of the State of Israel and the Jewish people."
