Once again: The IDF spokesman confirmed that a failed attempt was made this morning (Tuesday) to launch an improvised rocket from Jenin towards the settlement of Shaked in northern Samaria, when the forces located the remains of the rocket and the improvised launcher.
It was also said that sappers are at the point to examine the presence of explosives, and the findings will be forwarded to the security forces for further processing. Following the incident, the IDF launched a hunt for the suspects.
This is the sixth time that an attempt to fire a rocket from Jenin at Jewish settlements in Samaria has been reported. The first case occurred on May 24, when a video posted on Palestinian networks allegedly showed an attempt to launch a rocket from Jenin towards the settlement of Shaked. The documentation shows that a sheet of paper was attached to the launch facility, on which was written the date as well as a message in Arabic according to which "the next rocket will be bigger."
Since then, several more cases of shooting at Samaria and the Gilboa have been reported, with the latest case occurring about two weeks ago after the security forces located the remains of a rocket in Palestinian territory. The "Ayash" terrorist brigades in Jenin published a record of the rocket and claimed that they directed it towards Moshav Ram On. Apparently, a launch was made that exploded after a short time and did not have time to cross the fence towards the settlement.
