Acid tanks leaked in Petah Tikva: Highway 40 is closed for traffic

Highway 40 is closed for traffic from Ganim Junction to Segula Junction, after 6 containers of highly concentrated salt hydrochloric acid fell and ruptured on the road. Firefighters are working to contain and absorb the hazardous acid

Unusual Event: Six containers of highly concentrated hydrochloric acid fell this morning (Thursday) on Highway 40 in Petah Tikva, and some of them ruptured. As a result of the incident, Highway 40 has been closed to traffic from Ganim Junction to Segula Junction, in order to prevent exposure to the hazardous materials that leaked onto the road.

Firefighters were called to the scene, and they are conducting operations to cover and absorb the hazardous acid in order to minimize the impact of the dangerous substance's risks on the population.
