Police forces were called to Gil Beach in Ashdod today (Thursday) following a report of an explosion that occurred at the site, apparently as a result of handling explosive material. Three people were injured in the explosion, including two men aged 18 and 47 in moderate condition, and one in light condition.

According to the Magen David Adom (MDA) statement, the two men aged 18 and 47 were moderately injured, and another man was lightly injured. Paramedics provided them with initial medical treatment, and then they were evacuated to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer and Assuta Ashdod Hospital, suffering from burns on their bodies.

Magen David Adom paramedic, Shahar Adari, and emergency medical technician in MDA, Or-el Asulin, shared: "When we arrived at the marina, they led us to the three men who were sitting on the dock, suffering from burns all over their bodies. We provided them with advanced medical treatment on-site and evacuated them to hospitals in moderate and light condition."

Following the incident, the police forces closed off the area and began investigating the circumstances that led to the explosion.
