There is a date: the Supreme Court has ruled that it will hold a hearing this week on Thursday, August 3, regarding the Prime Minister's Incapacity law.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ester Hayut, Uzi Fogelman, and Judge Yitzhak Amit will participate in the discussion panel. The petition was submitted by the movement for the quality of government and Knesset member Oded Forer from "Israel Beiteno". Another discussion will be held on September 12 regarding the prime minister's conflict of interest.

The legal adviser: 'Enables Netanyahu to act contrary to the court's ruling'

The state's response to the High Court regarding The Incapacity Law says that the law should be repealed. According to an opinion submitted to the Supreme Court, Legal Adviser to the Government Gali Baharav-Miara claims that the amendment to the "Basic Law: The Government", which changed the way a prime minister is considered incapable, is "an extreme case of misuse of the constituent authority".

According to her claim, "this is an abuse of the Knesset's authority in order to improve the Prime Minister's personal legal situation and enable him to act contrary to the court's ruling."

In response to the appeal, the chairman of the Movement for Quality Government, Attorney Eliad Shraga, replied: "The government's legal advisor reminded everyone once again today that the rule of law also applies to the government, and in a democratic country, there are checks and balances between the authorities, so the anti-democratic legislation will be rejected at the gates of the High Court, in the stronghold of human rights."
