Jonathan Pollard is expected to receive a gun license in the coming days, despite previous refusals due to opposition from various professional authorities.
According to the report by Yuval Segev in Galei Tzahal this morning (Monday), it was noted that in the past, Pollard was denied a gun license after both the Ministry of National Security and a district judge determined that he did not meet the criteria. However, this time, following discussions held at the Ministry of National Security together with professional authorities in the office, he was approved to receive the gun license.
In the presence of Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, it was stated: "It is inconceivable that a person who sacrificed his life for the country and receives threats due to his actions would be denied the right to basic self-defense."
