Mike Waltz praises Trump for deterring Iran and catalysing Lebanon ceasefire

Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, says election win helped facilitate Lebanon ceasefire

WASHINGTON — Mike Waltz, U.S. Representative and President-elect Donald Trump’s choice for national security adviser, attributes Trump's election victory as a key factor in bringing the parties to the table for the ceasefire in Lebanon.

“Everyone is coming to the table because of President Trump,” Waltz said in a post on X Tuesday. “His decisive win sent a clear message that chaos will not be tolerated. It’s encouraging to see concrete steps toward de-escalation in the Middle East.”

He continued, “But make no mistake: The Iranian regime is the root cause of the chaos and terror in the region. We will not accept their continued support for terrorism.”

Michael Waltz, the nominee for the National Security Advisor position in the next U.S. administration, also responded to a New York Times report stating that the Iranians have backed off from attacking Israel due to Trump's election as president. He reported part of the report commenting "Another step towards restoring deterrence."
