Harris earned 79% of Jewish votes...

Surprising? Poll reveals majority of Jews voted for Harris to win, not Trump

An NBC News exit poll released on Tuesday night revealed that 79% of American Jews cast their votes for Vice President Kamala Harris, while 21% supported Donald Trump. This result comes after the Republican Jewish Coalition invested a record $15 million in the election, confident that dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party’s stance on Israel and antisemitism would secure more than 30% of the Jewish vote for Trump.

Initial Exit Polls Show Harris Winning 79% of Jewish Vote Nationwide.

In comparison, Trump received 30% of the Jewish vote in 2020 and 24% in 2016, according to the Jewish Virtual Library. During a speech in September, Trump dismissed polling data suggesting Democrats had a commanding lead among Jewish voters, attributing it to the Democratic Party's "curse" on Jews. He also criticized the support for Democrats, claiming, “It doesn’t make sense,” and continued his campaign rhetoric, stating Jewish voters who backed Harris should "have their head examined."

A Fox News poll from New York, however, showed a narrower margin, with 56% of New York’s Jewish voters supporting Harris and 43% backing Trump. Data on Jewish voter preferences in swing states is still pending.

Ari Fleischer, a board member of the Republican Jewish Coalition, had predicted that Trump would capture nearly 50% of the Jewish vote in battleground states.

Preliminary exit polls from the National Election Pool suggest that Trump earned the smallest percentage of the Jewish vote for a Republican presidential candidate in 24 years, with 79% of Jewish voters supporting Harris. While exit polls can sometimes be unreliable, they remain the best available indicator of Jewish voting patterns. Historically, around 20% to 30% of American Jews have supported Republican candidates in national elections, with Ronald Reagan’s 40% in 1980 representing a high point.

The latest exit polling data is still being analyzed, with some observers expecting potential changes as more results come in.
