Russia will launch two Iranian satellites into orbit at an altitude of 500 km above the Earth using a Soyuz launch vehicle.

In February, Russia launched another Iranian satellite, Pars 1, which was intended for space research and observations, using a Soyuz launcher from the Vostochny launch site in eastern Russia.

The Russian ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, posted the information on X, stating that the satellites were developed by the private sector in Iran.

The two satellites, named Coussar and Hod-Hod, will be launched into orbit about 500 km above the Earth. Coussar, a high-resolution imaging satellite, is planned to support space-based research and monitoring projects, while Hod-Hod is a small communications satellite intended to provide communication services.

This is not the first collaboration between Russia and Iran in the space sector. Last February, Russia also launched the Iranian satellite Nour 2 using a Soyuz launcher.

Despite sanctions imposed by the United States on both countries, Russia and Iran are deepening their scientific and technological cooperation, as evidenced by these upcoming satellite launches.
