Iran's Foreign Ministry has summoned the representatives of United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Germany following the statement of the E3 regarding the consequences of a claimed missile transfer from Iran to Russia, according to Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that this claim is entirely false. The EU previously said it had "credible information" showing the transfer of missiles from Iran to Russia.

Both the United States and the E3 - the United Kingdom, Germany, and France - said that they would be imposing new sanctions on Iran, including Iran Air, for participating in the transfer of missiles to Russia, which are expected to be used against Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Iran International reported earlier that an Iranian lawmaker named Ahmad Bakhshaei Ardestani said that "We provide missiles to Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi, so why shouldn't we provide them to Russia?" According to Ardestani, the transfer of missiles is part of an effort to secure resources from Russia, including soy and wheat.
