A Torah scroll valued at $50,000, stolen several months ago from a yeshiva in Queens, New York, has been returned to its rightful owner, according to a report by the New York Post.

Saul Colon, 37, was arrested and charged for the burglary and theft that took place on May 7 at the Siach Yitzchok day school in Far Rockaway. His accomplice, whose identity remains unknown, is still at large.

The duo reportedly removed a safe containing the Torah scroll from the school and fled the scene.

Following an investigation, Colon was apprehended and subsequently led police to the location where he had hidden the safe and the scroll.

Although the Torah scroll suffered minor water damage, it was safely recovered by authorities.
