An Ivy League student has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for making heinous threats against Jewish students. Patrick Dai, 22, a student at Cornell University, admitted to posting a series of antisemitic messages on a campus message board under various usernames, including “kill jews” and “Hamas soldier.”

Dai’s posts included graphic threats such as: “Watch out pig Jews. jihad is coming. nowhere is safe. your synagogue will become graveyards. your women will be raped and your children will be beheaded. glory to Allah.” He also threatened to attack 104 West, a kosher dining hall, and described plans to use an assault rifle against Jewish students.

The court also heard threats to slit the throats of Jewish men, rape and kill Jewish women, and behead Jewish babies.

Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke emphasized that such antisemitic threats violate the fundamental right of students to pursue education without fear of violence based on their religion. The sentencing underscores the commitment to holding accountable those who make violent threats based on religious or ethnic backgrounds.
