Houthi Spokesperson Yahya Sare'e announced today (Wednesday) that in response to "the ongoing massacre in Rafah," Houthi forces attacked six ships - three in the Red Sea, two in the Arabian Sea, and one in the Mediterranean, according to Kann 11 News reporter Roi Kais.

This statement, though not entirely confirmed, aligns with the Houthi's repeated threats to expand their attacks against any ships servicing Israel beyond the Bab el-Mandeb choke point in the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, maritime news site gCaptain reports that the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the United Nations agency that oversees global shipping, has called for an immediate end to attacks on ships and sailors passing through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The resolution, in London last week, condemned the attacks as “illegal and unjustifiable,” and underscored that the actions of the Houthis pose a direct threat to navigation freedom in one of the world’s most vital waterways, creating create significant disruptions to regional and global trade.
