The Wall Street Journal reported today (Wednesday) that former US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, is expected to withdraw from the Republican Party primaries following her Super Tuesday losses to former President Donald Trump in 14 of the 15 states that voted. Halley's only win came in the state of Vermont.
According to the report, Haley is expected to make a statement to the media later in the day announcing she is dropping out of the race. In doing so, Donald Trump will effectively become the Republican candidate in the presidential election. All the other candidates have already withdrawn from the race.
Despite her imminent decision to drop out, Haley will not announce an endorsement of Trump. You will recall that the other GOP candidates who dropped out of the race took this step following their decisions. Sources close to Haley said that instead of an official endorsement, she will urge Trump to earn the support of her voters.
