Today (Sunday), a major rally and march will take place in France to mark 100 days since the start of the war. The rally will include trucks with pictures of the hostages and hundreds of bicycles riding around the streets of Paris calling for their release.
The rally, organized by the French Jewish community, is supported by the French government and additional non-Jewish citizens.
Many posters containing the pictures of the hostages were hung around the country. There were clashes and attempts to take them down in a number of locations, but the organizing forum managed to cover a large number of cities with them.
“France does not abandon its children, you can trust me”
French President Emanuel Macron sent a clip where he stated he could not be at the event but that he joins the call to free the hostages and made mention of those with French citizenship:
“100 days have passed, 100 days, Eitan, Erez, Sahar, and Maya returned to us but we bemoan the death of Iliya who was murdered by his captors in Gaza. The French nation is determined that Ohad and Ofer return to the children who were freed, that Orion be freed, that all the hostages of the terror attack from last October 7 be freed. France does not abandon its children and we should therefore return and renew the negotiations to free them again and again. We must not give up, we must never give up because we cannot agree and we will never agree to any victim. And we will do anything, and you can trust me to bring them all back to you.”
“I cannot be with you on Sunday but I will be in my thoughts. Thank you for not silencing the situation. We will not let anything alone and we will fight to the end so everyone is freed.”
