After South Africa presented its argument at the International Court of Justice in the Hague, per which Israel is committing “genocide” in the Gaza Strip, today Israel will argue for its defense and make counterarguments.

Like the discussion yesterday, the doors will open and discussion begin at 10 AM Holland time, or GMT + 1. The discussion will take place for three hours and will entirely focus on the Israeli defense and arguments against the South African prosecution.

The Israeli legal and diplomatic teams did not reveal in advance how they aim to undermine the South African arguments, but the belief is that a significant portion of these will focus on the Hamas crimes and their great severity, as well as the steps Israel has taken to protect the civilian population in Gaza.

Some Israeli diplomats are preparing for the scenario, which they have described as “conceivable,” in which the court sides with the South African claims and even issues injunctions against Israel, but this is not expected to happen today.
