Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this evening (Thursday) with US President Joe Biden, for the first time since the resumption of fighting in the Gaza Strip last week. The conversation comes a day after the Cabinet approved increasing the introduction of fuel into the Gaza Strip to prevent a humanitarian collapse, which according to reports was accepted following American pressure.

White House officials said that Biden and Netanyahu "continued to consult on the conflict between Israel and Hamas."

As mentioned, last night the political and security cabinet approved the war cabinet's recommendation to allow a minimal addition of fuel necessary to prevent a humanitarian collapse and the outbreak of epidemics in the southern Gaza Strip. According to reports, the fuel will increase to 120,000 liters per day.

According to the decision, the minimum amount of fuel will be determined from time to time by the War Cabinet according to the state of morbidity and the humanitarian situation in the Strip. All the members supported it except Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Defense Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir who opposed the decision.
