A debate took place last night (Wednesday) among candidates for the Republican nomination for President: Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Chris Christie. Former President Donald Trump refused to participate due to his big lead in the polls.

The candidates all addressed Israel’s war in Gaza, and many tried to show how much they support Israel’s right to defend itself more than the other candidates.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis accused the Biden administration of saying it supports Israel while limiting its ability to fight. He also noted that Iran encouraged and supported the attack on October 7, yet Biden was not really doing enough about Iran.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that if he were President today, he would send American troops to free the American citizens being held hostage by Hamas.

Nikki Haley, former American ambassador to the UN, said that Iran needs to be pressured more and only understands force. Haley, known for her pro-Israel views, also said that TikTok should be banned since the more time spent on the app leads people to become more antisemitic and pro-Hamas.
