Watch: Gideon Saar responds to alleged Israeli ceasefire violations

The Foreign Minister spoke to his French counterpart regarding alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire, explaining the context.

Foreign Minister Gideon Saar spoke today (Monday) to his French counterpart regarding alleged violations of the ceasefire by the IDF, violations noted by both France and the United States.

In their conversation, Saar stressed that it was not Israel that was violating the ceasefire, rather Israel was enforcing the ceasefire against Hezbollah violations, including using force to prevent Hezbollah operatives from moving around armed in southern Lebanon or transferring weapons there.

Saar further said that the Lebanese government needs to authorize its army to do what is needed to enforce the agreement.

Saar emphasized that Israel wants the ceasefire to succeed, but only insofar that all obligations are met and the pre-war status quo is not restored.
