IDF Halevi 'We Will Enforce the Ceasefire with Fire'

Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi: "Any violation in Lebanon, we enforce with fire."

Halevi made clear that "any Hezbollah violation of Lebanon ceasefire will face severe consequences. This is our duty." The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, held a situational assessment today (Thursday) with members of the General Staff Forum, during which he addressed the enforcement of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.

In a situational assessment held with members of the General Staff Forum, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi addressed the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and stated that its enforcement is an obligation of the IDF towards the residents of the North. "We will act very strongly and very resolutely on enforcement."

In the situational assessment, Halevi said: "This agreement is the result of months of fighting, particularly the last three months." A lot of achievements in Lebanon, intense work, very determined work, the killing of the entire senior echelon, the killing of all the commanders, we need to remember this.

"Remember back," he said to those present, "Majwad al-Tawil from early January onwards, all the assassinations, all the attacks, the entire command chain. It is now moving to another phase, with the same determination that we brought the powers to the agreement, and we know exactly that Hezbollah reached this agreement from a place of lack of choice and weakness."

He also said, "With these very strengths, we are going to enforce it, no less than that. Any deviation from this, the Northern Command knows, soon I will also talk about things in the Air Force, we enforce it with fire, we enforce it very, very strongly."

"I think it's important to us because we have worked so hard to reach this point, but more than that, I tell you, the residents in the North are watching now and want to see us very determined in enforcement so that they can return, and it is our duty to them, and our duty to ourselves. But first and foremost, it is our duty to the residents in the North, and therefore we are going very strongly and very determinedly on enforcement."

In the IDF, they continue to push Hezbollah operatives away from southern Lebanon.

At the same time, an IDF spokesperson announced that during the day, several suspicious activities were identified that posed a threat to the State of Israel from the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

It should be noted that earlier today, IDF forces identified two terrorists who arrived at a known terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon, from which dozens of launches into Israeli territory have been made in the past month. An aircraft attacked the operatives to neutralize the threat.

Additionally, in recent hours, IDF forces have acted to remove additional operatives from the southern Lebanon area. The IDF is deployed in the southern Lebanon area and continues to operate in order to protect the State of Israel and its citizens.
