Argentinian Defense Minister Luis Petri arrived in Israel on Wednesday to strengthen defense ties and drive forward the modernization of Argentina’s defense systems, according to Walla news.
During his visit, Petri is set to engage in high-level discussions aimed at acquiring advanced defense technologies and promoting collaboration in research and development, particularly in artificial intelligence for national security applications.
Key elements of his trip include talks with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, emphasizing the strategic partnership between the two nations. Petri will also meet with Israeli families affected by the October 7 Hamas attacks, as well as Argentine military personnel residing in Israel.
Petri’s visit follows a significant meeting in September between Argentine President Javier Milei and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, which focused on Middle East security concerns, including the ongoing hostage situation in Gaza and rising tensions with Hezbollah.
