Following the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah going into effect, Mehdi Nasrallah, the son of the assassinated Hezbollah secretary-general, posted a video of himself from the ruins of his home in Beirut's Dahiya, in which he congratulates the "steadfast" people on the victory.
He also thanked everyone who remained in Lebanon throughout the war, even when those who were uprooted from their homes.
Southern Lebanon hours of the morning (Wednesday), Lebanese channels have been showing the influx of displaced persons back to their homes. The return to the devastated areas, in southern Lebanon, in the villages in the Bekaa region in the east of the country, and in Beirut's Dahiya, has been rapid.
The various villages in southern Lebanon welcomed the returning residents with songs, flags and signs – expressions of joy that do not sync well with the extensive destruction and the fighting that went on just several hours ago.
Villages from which Hezbollah had operated against Israel in recent months have been completely destroyed. Images of the destruction can be seen on all Lebanese media channels, but despite the destruction, the Hezbollah-affiliated channels continue to convey messages of "resilience" and "victory."
